Freegans whats every1s view on these there a bit weird in my mind like i couldnt fancy raidin bins all nite just so i could have me frosties in a morning or my steak at a nite.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/6933744.stm
When I worked at Somerfield on the deli we used to chuck as many as 30 freshly cooked chickens and other food away each night. We weren't even allowed to take anything home for ourselves so at least someone is getting something out of it. That Somerfield spokesman is talking a right load of bollocks. Wasting food was the only thing they did consistently well.
If you go to asda or tesco after 10/11 at night you can get all sorts on the cheap. A ful roasted chicken for a quid. A french stick = 12p 24 bread buns = 8p winner.
I don't know that I could do it myself, but I think it's great that people are actually making use of stuff that is perfectly good and would otherwise go to waste.
