Follow on from the Hoffman thread... Its amazing to think what else LSD has led to. He had no idea how much he was going to change the course of history when he was working in the lab that day. Without him there wouldn't have been massive advancements in psychiatry due to the study of LSD resulting in anti-psychotics, they'd probably still be having limited success with brain lobotomy's and electroshock therapy. There would have been no hippie era in the 1960's and the massive impact it had on music and the civil rights movement. Even the impact LSD had on the human rights movement - and psy trance scene of course , outweighs any negatives in my opinion.
