Ffs Right, Me kenzil and a few others are going on holiday tomorrow to laganas. Kenzil checks his passport last night only to find its his old one they sent back when he renewed his passport. He cant find his renewed passport anywhere and so it is therefore lost! He's rang durham and they have said its a week turn around for lost/stolen passports. Ive sent him up there to practically beg for a passport. anyone have any ideas if they dont give him one. im gutted for the kid atm.
If its lost you cant get one on the spot, it takes a week. I know as it happened to me last year. They have to do checks and also cancel it which takes time. Gutted Kenzil mate
He was saying something about having the number for the greek embassy in london. fuck knows whats thats all about
Given the way things are at the minute with terrorists i cant see him getting anywhere near a plane without a valid passport
Re: Ffs Are your flights booked together? If so make sure they will let you on the plane without him as some airlines won't. Cunts.
I don't want to. He's obviously a very unlucky boy. But other peoples misfortunes are more often than not rather funny.
Yeah but i bet your last one wasnt lost/stolen? Brand new passports or renewals you can get on the spot for a few quid more, so he's fucked basically.
Re: Ffs The passport agency don't send old passports back. It's illegal to hold more than one passport, even if one of them has expired.
Re: Re: Ffs Not the case, I now have two. I renewed my passport a couple of month ago, they gave my my new one and returned my old one, albeit with about a third of the back page cut off.
Our cleaner at work reckons she couldn't get her passport renewed in time so she took her out of date one and used that. She says she got out of the country okay and only had problems getting back home, however they "let her off" as her flight out had used the old passport. Apparently "they're still valid even after they expire". However we all think she didn't actually get away on her holiday but just doesn't want to admit it.
Check whether any other form of photo ID is valid (driving licence etc). It was the case that you could travel within the EU without a passport, but I'm not sure if that's still the case what with the terrorism threat etc. Get in touch with whoever you booked the holiday through - they should be able to help.
