Is it only where I choose to work or is this problem all over.
you see, there is this lass, well woman, and she has to be the one who out-talks, out-squawks and out-squeal everyone all day long. This is so irritating, its bad enough I have to listen to pensioners all day yapping on about how their arthritis hurts and why they cant go out any more.
From 9-5 she nearly has me up for murder. In fact while Ive got an hour left I may just do her in now.

All call centre staff nowadays are from Bombay as that is where most call centres are.

You people should feel sorry for me! I work in a call cener ringing old people and trying to sell them beds, so basically, i have to ring them up and ASK about their medical problems, thats like inviting them to moan at me for an hour and a half!!!!

i had an old lady the other day telling me she'd just had an operation on her ears and she said "i think theyve put them back on the wrong way round!"

Come to think of it, i actually enjoy my job, its funny talking to crazy old people, they make me laugh, plus im the boss, so i can tell people what to do :evil:

I had one old woman the other week and i asked her if she did any work at all. She says "well..... i sing and serve coffee and biscuits every saturady afternoon on southampton high street, you should come down and i'll give you extra helpings."

I told her i would be there around 1.30pm when i finish work
didnt have the heart to tell her i lived in newcastle.

I enjoy talking to pensioners, no offence but half of them are as thick as pig shit... you can get away with telling them any thing.

I've worked in a couple of call centres now and i've found that pensioners are always the most fun to talk too, you can start to bang on about the weather or the football in some cases and you have to interupt them just to get back to what you were supposed to be doing.

Show some respect.

Fair enough there good for a laugh now again but i'd much rather talk to a 70 yer old war veteran who will talk shit with me than a 40 year old solicitor who's up his own arse.

yeah I work in Pension Credit too. Just changed my hours for the third time since I started in February. I've been here since the start and fair enough the oldies can be very entertaining (I find the Irish and Scottish to be a lot more 'alive' than others) however after a while you realise there is more to life than listening to pensioners rambling on about what we have to 'look forward to'.

From Monday I go part time to start Newcastle College, I just hope my part time hours will satisfy my hunger to hear 'golden oldies' tell me that they cant remember their last meal never mind their National Insurance Number !

working in call centres can be shit but can also b gud...money is decent but most colleagues & customers r shit tbf!!
