Just checked myself and sure enough mines on there! "Warning to ALL ...PHONE NUMBERS OF ALL YOUR MOBILE PHONE CONTACTS are now on Facebook! No joke - go to the top right of the screen, click on Account, then click on Edit Friends, go left on the screen and click on Contacts. All phone numbers are published!! Please repost this on your Status, so your friends can remove their numbers if they do not want them published... "
To remove: Go to Account -> Edit Friends -> Then left column Contacts -> On the right of contact there will be 2 paragraphed text, like: If you want to remove your number go this page --> Press the link - read the instructions, You are safe now!
What they playing at man, seriously Edit: hold on, in the instructions via facebook i have: Note: Before you click Remove, you need to make sure syncing is switched off. To do this, open the Facebook application on your iPhone, click the Friends icon in the main menu, then click Sync in the upper-right. I've done this and it says Sync Contacts... so if i click the bastard it's gonna sync everything if it isn't already done? :S bit confused
click it, and it gives you a set of options. BTW, this doesn't publish the numbers to a public area of facebook, it seems to be like a private contact list. I suspect facebook compares contact lists to see whos number is where and suggest them to other people who have their numbers as friends. I can see drawbacks to it though, already removed the contacts from mine.
Ah rite. I've no options via the iphone app tho conz, it just has sync contacts, which is why i'm not clicking it lol. It says nothing about sync being on or off & theres no other options. Basically without our consent or warning all our numbers have been stored at Facebook HQ... is it New Labour that's running Facebook now or what I've clicked remove via Facebook anyway, told i'll be notified when it's complete. I've been saying it for the past 3 or 4 weeks, i think it's time i fuck facebook off now, it's just getting far to personal, it's borderline shit stirring tbh.
