    Crasher Monthly

“I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT ALL CLUBS ARE UNDER-PERFORMING AT THE MOMENT, IT’S GETTING HARDER TO BOOK BIG DJS BECAUSE OF THEIR INTERNATIONAL COMMITMENTS, AND CLUBBERS ARE MORE INTERESTED IN GOING TO BIG EVENTS. WHICH IS WHY WE’VE DECIDED TO CONCENTRATE ON PUTTING ON ONE AWESOME PRODUCTION AT THE REPUBLIC EACH MONTH, WHILE PUTTING THE SAME CARE AND ATTENTION TO OUR NIGHTS IN LONDON, EUROPE AND THE WORLD AND ALSO OUR HUGELY SUCCESSFUL EVENTS IN THE UK.”

Got this off the Crasher website

What does everyone reckon about it going monthly??

Personally I dont think its going to be a good thing for most people because all thats going to happen is it will be packed full every month and meaning less room to dance and incredible heat. Its also going to attract a completely different crowd and I think that many of the crasher regulars (which Im not part of by the way) may stop going altogether. This IMO opinion will kill the legacy that is Crasher off and it will be a very sad loss to the clubbing community.

Sorry in advance if anyone disagrees with me on this one but its just what i think and my opinion is probably worth nothing compared to all the clubbing veterans out there cos im a bit new to all this really :)

i do see wot u mean about it being packed every month.....and being unconfortable cos its too hot etc...

BUT,,,,this may be a bad thing for US but i dont fink it will be a bad thing for the management....thay make more £££ as more people are in the club...needing to buy more drinks as it is too hot...etc etc...

cud be completely wrong like....just how i see it turning..

gutted for the true crasher lovers out there...must be well saddening for it to go monthly after uve been going every week for so many years....

got to admit though, from what i hear gatecrasher have been there own worst enemy over the past few years: the progressive phase, the adondoning of the cybers, all the big events that they constantly put on, and of course picotto...

even just recently when the crasher music policy came back to trance (which they should probably never have changed in the 1st place, brave move though..) most of the crasher kids have found alternative places to go. how many decent clubs are there in the north and around crasher?

o well, i feel dead sorry for crasher because it is a truely awesome place. hope the monthly events @ the republic will be fucking awesome.

    Re: Crasher Monthly

well i saw this response to it:

I’m sick of hearing promoters moaning or going monthly.
Clubbing isn’t about trying to be as profitable as possible
and if you’re not really into it you shouldn’t be doing it.
    (7 Magazine)
UK club land is NOT in recession, says Back To Basics
    promoter Dave Beer

i think it was bad idea for crasher, i thought they should have just worked bit harder to get weekly nights back to there best personly. BUt i'm no promoter!

I aint a fan of crasher, only downside is with the demise of crasher all those arrogant crasher kids will need to find a new home

Do you think crasher kids will still be arrogant if you take away their railings?

Its sad that Crasher has gone monthly but Trance has died out and therefore how can Gatecrasher survive? It cant.

All things come to a end.

Crasher Monthly is gonna be a nightmare :( :(

I mean yeah it gives us all summit to look forward to for the ones that do go - sayin that like i aint been since Jan 12th as for some reason just dont feel the need to like i used to - anyways monthly means its gonne be rammed to fuck every time dont it therefore sweatin like fuck too as it seems no matter money they make from NEC nights or GCSSS they will NOT invest in Air Conditioning that works :( :( - there boundto also let loads in monthly as they will see it as a chance to make as much as they can coz i cant see any other nights @ the Republic taking in the ammount on a Sat that Crasher does !!

As for the Crasherkids goin places then i dont think that anyone needs to worry coz Crasher now on Sat n Promise Fri - if we were worried they would come North then let them - cant stop them really can we and if anything there not gona have poor night are they ;) ;) - i reckon places like Gods/Passion/Slinky are the ones that are gonna get more busy then some of em are Fri too !!

i heard at the weekend....cant remember where though, that tidy trax are deffo taking over one of the saturday nites at the republic!:D:D:D

this is excellent mefinx but also not so good as the tidy trax night could end up bein more successfull than crasher therefore it would kinda put crasher in its shadow...when its in crashers home...if that makes sense!

    just a thought:p

    My two pennies worth.....

Personally IMO I think the decision by GC to go monthly has happened because of a couple of things:

    - GC SOLO!!! Every night which lasts til 6am needs variation...not one person doing 4 hours! OK so the Dj's prefer longer sets but peeps can get bored, especially if the Dj concerned doesnt really have the talent to do a longer set (Dumonde etc!!) This was not the case with likes of Armin etc!

    - Hard!! GC is and should be trance and nowt else!! Not progressive, not hard, not hard house, not techno, not tech-trance...nothing but TRANCE!! If they kept to booking trance Dj's I'm sure the crowds would have kept going!

I kinda agree with what Simon Raine says and its a shame :( But rather than go monthly I'm sure that they could've maybe started shutting at 4am or sommit!!

Unfortunately I think GC may well die now!! But like Technofish says 'All GOOD things must come to an end' It's just a shame its come so early!!! :(

Gatecrashers problem is that they are losing too much money from 4am-6am. They only have an alcohol licence till 2am which means they don't make much money after that.

Also the crowd they attract drink fuck all which doesn't help.

The reason Dave Beer at basics can make money is cos they serve alcohol till 7am! We went to Fatboy Slim there on Saturday, waited for 4 and a half hours before we finally got in at 2:30am. Fucking good night though in the end.

im really gutted bout crasha goin monthly, not cos i go every week (wish i cud afford it! ) but just cos it will lose everything that i love about crasha...
nobody likes it when its too hot and busy, and it will become an EVENT (the dreaded word!!), and most of all... the crasha kids!! (sorry joe) but i love them, ive only eva met 1 arrogant cyber in crasha, and you get arrogant bastards in every group of people  from wot i c, crasha kids are usually 2 busy doin their own stuff to even look down at me from their high and mighty railings ;) :p
this is probs the longest post iv eva wrote... but ive met the nicest people in crasha, and made sum class friends....
that big dave blokey is a bit wierd tho ;)

I have only ever been to crasher 3 times over past couple years, and all three of those times I had an amazing night! Best one being new years eve 2001.

Really i dont have much to go by other than other peeps opinion, It is a real shame that crasher is going monthly, but what will amerge from the ashes? Tidy Trax doing at least one night! The venue is amazing it wont be long b4 something as good as if not better will be in its place and crasher will be a happy memory!

Dont get me wrong if crasher stayed weekly it would be great, but its not and there is little we can do accept hope that what ever is in its place is worthy of GC's shoes!

I think ali is right - it will turn crasher into an event with all the trademarks of an event. Advance tickets will sell out. Will be full of randoms. Crowded. Hot. Generally a bit of a let down.

On the other hand if you like events....
