    Cigarette Filters

    Why are they almost always orange, with little yellow flecks on them? Is this meant to represent anything? What did they used to be made of?

    you talking about the little plastic ones you get from the chemist??
    mine were clear with a little orange filter inside. mite just be the best colour to see the tar n shit.

    No, i just mean the normal filter on any normal cigarette.

    i've got your answer

    cigarette filters have yellow flecks to stimulate the colour of the cork from which the first filters were made. companies use them as they look traditional.
