apparently it was never seen by the public, the balctic management just called the police when they saw it. must be a tad risque in that case i reckon.

It was on the local news last night. They showed the picture but with the obvious bits covered up. 2 young girls messing about. Aged about 4 and 6. The 6 yr old was standing over the other girl in just underware. The 4 yr old was lying on the floor naked apparently with her legs wide open and all her glory on show.
Not art in my opinion but could just be an innocent photo non the less.

Yeah, i saw that piece on the news too - probably an innocently taken photo at the time but shouldn't have been used in public exhibitions

apparently a director saw it and rang the police to ask them to come and have a look at it to see if it was ok to show and they arrived while the press were there for another opening. The press then fell on the story like wolves 'police sieze art exhibit' etc
bit of an own goal then really.
I think if they selected it then they should show it and defend it and the artist concerned. Anything less is cowardice on their part and hanging the artist out to dry. And if we are no longer able to see pictures of human children in an art gallery then we are one sick society.

Most cases of child sex abuse occur within families (and probably always will do) by uncles, cousins, dads, step dad's, grandads, brothers, good family friends, the odd mum or whatever. So if these family members go into the Baltic, they are going to suddenly have the urge to abuse their little relatives? Bullshit. If they are going to abuse them, they will abuse them, regardless of what art exhibition they just went to.

Won't even be allowed to take pictures of your baby in the bath before long.

here have been cases of people reported by film labs for taking pictures of their kids in the bath.

The whole point of taking those is to show them to their first boyfriend / girlfriend in later life to embarrass the hell out of them
