I know of a class insurance company, they are called HIC insurance.

Haven't got the phone number but I will post it when I get in from work.

They quoted me £700 for a year, third party (Fire and theft) on a 1.6 lsi Honda Civic coupe.

They also said that if I was to add alloys, bodykit or any other little extras then it would not affect the insurance!

Btw I'm 21 and have been driving for 2 years..

Apparently Tesco's offer very competitive insurance rates.

Eagle Star are really expensive so dont bother trying them.

Direct Line can be reasonable but youve got to be careful cos the policy is usually shit :D

When youre ringing around ask lots of questions about the policy:

What happend to No Claims if u have an accident (fault or non fault)

    Windscreen cover

Courtesy car guaranteed? (particularly if the accident is your fault)

How long it takes to deal with a claim if your car is stolen (most companies wait ages incase the car is recovered and dont give you a courtesy car)

Theres loads more but it depends whats most important to you :D

Yeah if ya gonna do a car up then HIC is by far the best.. I think fully comp on that Honda was only just over £1000

God I'd love a 106 GTI, is it a quicksilver model?

If it is just buy it.. they're fuckin mint..

Insurance companies tend to tell you stuff like you get a courtesy car, but not that you dont get one if its your fault or if the car is stolen. I'll try think of some important stuff you should ask and I'll pm ya :D

i found Privilegde the best, an offshoot for Direct Line i think. But they deal with *ahem* dodgy people with crap no claims and fast cars. me. i got quoted £3000 on my RT Sport Laguna, but with them it was only £1200. AND only £800 this year. which is nice...

    Did ya get the 106?

I went out an bought one yesterday.. £2000 T reg and only 33,000 miles on the clock..

Not a GTI though.. It ain't stayin plain for long either!

Bookin it in to get a nice set of 16" alloys, Lowered 40Mil and then some lexus rear clusters on.. mmmm

Insurance was only £400 third party :D
