    Car Insurance

Ive tried tesco endsleigh and barclays who i work for and the best deal i could get was £1280 from tesco fully comp on a 04 1.2 clio expression worth 3k.

anyone know any cheap insurers, im a student but also work for a bank so a studen friendly insurer would be nice :D

why bother with fully comp for a 3k car?

    just go fire and theft?

if you crash and its your fault, buy another with the cash you will save on the insurance.....

    are you sure?

better to ask the company giving the quotes as this is not always the case

there was a £2300 difference in price between 3rd party and fully comp when i bought my car ;)

cheapest by far when i did it.

Make sure you add your mum or dad to the policy, it brings it down loads.

Paying that much for a 1.2 is ludicrous. Even being quoted that is ludicrous.

I've just got my renewal for my 2.0 golf gti 16v, and its only £590 TPFT.

Differences can be quite high between comprehensive and third party fire & theft, but certainly isnt going to be THAT much for clio.

Admiral was the cheapest for me, by a long way. Don't go for the 10 month bonus accelerator thing though, as you can't transfer it to another insurance company apparently.

can't transfer your no claims bonus? i doubt that's true like!

The bonus accelerator is more aimed at younger drivers to help get a full years no claims after a 10 month term while also saving you money.

If you go to another insurer, you can say you have x years no claims, and then you just send the proof of that which will be issued by admiral. Last year mine did not say "1 years no claims (bonus accelerator" just simply said 1 year

Just what I was told when I was looking at them. It's one way of keeping you with the same company.

my mams just re-insured her car though, and she just found a local firm around our way and it was loads cheaper than any of the major firms, so might be worth giving that a go

Got my renewal notice through last week with elephant.

1200 last year, 800 this year - would cost me LESS to insure a Porsche 911 or a brand new Nissan 350Z than it does for me to insure my Alfa GTV.

    Insurance sucks.

i have Rach, cheapest it found was £1138.20 from NIG screentrade  thn quinn for £1278.36.

im on my dads insurance at the minute for only 20 quid a month extra which is alright seeing as though i probably spend twice that amount getting to work and uni.

its an automatic tho so its a bit funny to drive :(
