Can anyone help... I think there's sum thin goin on with my hotmail account - i always used to get loadsa dodgy emails - never really bothered me tho, i wud just block n delete them - but now i am gettin even more emails - but the dodgy thing is i am getting 1's which are absolutely huge - like 150k and they dont contain a single word... im assuming they r sumthin dodgy - but is there anything i can do to stop em? Im blocking about 3 addresses a day at the mo n i dont wanna have to get a new email address...
It's a pretty malicious virus called KLEM.. it has a few variants. for those who use mail clients like Outlook, and no kind of virus protection, it scans the adress book and send itself to everyone. If you do use Outlook, turn off the Preview Pane below the mail list, this will prevent it from running.. unless you open it. I've had a few of these in the past few days, only thing you can do is check your PC for viruses, and delete the infected mails as they come in.
Its a very recent computer virus, if you see an e-mail that is over 100k and you don't recognise the address then don't open it! You really don't want to get this virus, because there is no cure yet and it will eat your files and pass its self on to everyone in your e-mail account (even addresses of people that have sent you messages) everytime you go on the net. So the moral is don't open it!
Well, ive only ever opened em in hotmail... n i got norton anti virus n norton internet security, so i should b protected against it... hopefully... i just hope they jack in sendin me them, cos its really startin to annoy me...
It seems that Hotmail has gone really bad with the amount of junk mail I receive. For years I never used to get much but now I get loads.
I seem to be the only person on Msn not usin Hotmail!! I gave up ages ago as i got soooooooo much junk (even wen usin the filter thingie) Now use talk21 (bt)
I only started using hotmail again cos of msn messenger... plus i refuse to use outlook express - cos i heard that has more security flaws...
I do like 2 b differant!! Baaaaaaaaaa And yeah it is better. No junk mail. Well a little but nufin compared to Hotmail
any 1 heard ov the benjamin worm virus its on kazza didnt think i had it then scaned it (4 free) it was in about every fookin file i had, downloaded it free from kazza homepage worth gettin!
hotmail is bad for all the junk mail they send ya, even when your using the filters, im still deleting at least 4 address's a day!
