    Broken phone...

was writing a text and some guy knocked my arm and i dropped my phone

Its not damaged on the outside but it wont turn on anymore...just get a blank white screen which goes off after about 10 seconds

Its a slide phone but when u slide it like half way it clicks...if you get me

Its not insured so if i tell o2 that its "just stopped working" should i be able to get a warranty repair?

You'll have to go straight to the manufacturer. It will be covered for a year by them, 02 would only deal with it if you take out the insurance with them.

You'll have to send it away to get fixed.

    Re: Broken phone...

if its under 1yr old, which it is, take it to either:

    a) fone logistics in cramlington
    b) carfone warehous ein metro centre

Just tell them it wont switch on - they will try and fix it - BUT, be warned, if they can prove the damage was done by you, i.e. water damage or by dropping it, they can charge u.

i know it sounds daft but the phone was free so paying for insurance is madness!

    I will try carphone warehouse....ta!

Basically when u slide it...its hard to describe but like when it gets nearer to the top of the slide position it sorta springs up....but the resistance is more, then it clicks, then slides.

Like when you wind a toy car up to much and it clicks sorta thing

They may well be able to say its because i dropped it but hopefully since there is no damage on the outside they might not!

Im pleased i dont have to deal with o2 like

Just had a few numbers on phone memory..thats all ive lost, well apart from pics n that

    Not really.

Insurance is to cover the value of replacing an item, not how much it cost you in the first place.

Please don't use that saying, it may be offensive to other people on the board.

im told its a common fault with these phones!

A phone should be able to withstand being dropped the odd time, my old phone was bomb proof!

Not true, wether you have insurance or not, if you bought it from an o2 shop, online or over the fone at 02 they will replace it as th fone was bought off them and is still under warranty.

They'll only sned you to the manufacturer or wherever you bought it if say u bought it from the link or woolworths etc.

Did you buy it from 02?

If so when they ask questions like have you tried your sim in another o2 phone or do you know anyone with an o2 phone who can try their sim in your fone just say yes u've tried it and it stil doesnt work.

They'll ask things like that to try get you off the fone and try etc....

AYe just say u've tried it but dont tell them you dropped ur phone either or they'll simpley say they cant do a thing without insurance for user damage.

Just say its not turning on and they'll ask u questions say 've tried averything and ythey should send out a replacement
