Aye just saw that. Fucksticks! ;)

.... i've listened to two of those mixes tho, and they are both very 'deep' to me, which mine sure as hell aint.

I might go home and smash up my midi controllers and soundcard in a childish rage when i get home now like ;)

It sounds like it wasn't to his tastes - I was victim to that in the first DJ competition I entered a few years back ;)

Still, well done for sticking yer oar in and having a go, for what it's worth, I thought you had a mint mix

He actually said Ableton 'dj' sets would be spotted and discarded. I tweeted him about using Traktor with midi controllers and he said it was fine.

Funnily enough ... the top winning entry was done using ableton.

I've went from cdj's (Denon and Pio CDJ1000) and a mixer, to a single deck (Denon HS5500) and a mixer (DJM800) using mirror mix mode and beatmatching manually, to a using the HS5500 as a midi device controlling traktor and routing it back through a mixer, to using a Traktor Kontrol X1 with a laptop and routing it into a mixer via a Audio Kontrol 1 sound card, to scrapping the mixer and buying a XONE:1D to control traktors internal mixer while still using the Kontrol X1 to control transport functions.

    ... i get bored easily ;)

waw thats some journey through equipment

????????? you get bored easily , what mixing / djing ...... ???????? or of the gear your using

to tell you the truth a cud tell strait away your set for the comp was computer / midi based ( personaly i agree with YOUSEF , comps are not for mid / computer / ableton / tractor / based djing ...... by all means use them when your out djing in clubs and stuff just not for comps ( thats my opinion anyway )

Is what you play on even an issue these days tho - there is so much hardware out there, its the choice of the DJ as opposed to the restrictions of the club these days...

I can maybe understand ableton being a cop out tho - i tried that once and hated it. It felt more like using a sequencer than actually DJ'ing.
