Blackhall & A.scott - 'Bungalow' and 'My House'

here is the link where you can listen to 2 new tracks by myself and Alex Scott. Both of them are Unmastered.

'My house' is more of a warm up track, it has a nice build and got a warm deep house chord throught

'Bungalow' is in my eyes more of a peak time track with a rolling bongo and along with the uplifting vocal it kicks off nicely after the break down

    all feedback is much appreciated

    cheers

Sounds good mate. Really liking "My House". Fits in well with loads of other tracks I've got.

Bungalow is good too. It's got a similar vibe to a track I've heard recently, but I just can't put my finger on it?? Will try and remember.

Can you download them from anywhere? Wouldn't mind sticking "My House" into a set and seeing how it sounds.

Really like 'My House', nice stabs/melody, love the little vocal snatches. good drums as well

Not so keen on Bungalow, a little too sparse imo but thats personal taste more than anything else

Both nicely produced and sound really tight :cool2:

Just spotted this, nice work lads :cool2:

My House has a nice vibe to it, definitely something that would go down well early doors in a warm up set.

Bungalow also has a nice feel to it, i think i would maybe look to define the kick drums a bit more, possibly by using some compression. The track has a wicked groove and i love the bongo sound you have used, and i think that a bit extra kick will really finish it off nicely. This is only personal taste like so feel free to ignore if you dont agree

Overall some wicked stuff there lads though, keep up the good work

nice one mate, cheers for the feedback

thanks for listening in detail graham mate, fair point about bungalow. compression has been used on the kick but both tracks need mastering so shuould sound more meaty and full once thats done

    cheers dude

Bungalow is the better of the 2, the percussion is good but the kick (on both tracks actually) sounds far too weak and needs a lot more punch with the bassline sidechained to give the bottom end more drive and ''pump''. Sort that out and youll be on to a winner with ''Bungalow.'' Other than that everything else seems pretty spot on. Quality stuff.

    Are you using Ableton?

Just type in sidechain compression in youtube and stacks of videos will come up, its actually really easy to get to grips with and the videos will explain everything. I didnt have a clue myself but within about 10 minutes of messing around with the settings i pretty much had the hang of it.

(rankin was logged in the laptop - above post)

nah were using cuebase with a few vst packages

yeah ill get on it mate, i was under the impression it was canny hard to do coz you can make the certian parts to powerful or sumit and wreck the track, but hope that aint the case!

Ah right, i tried using Cubase but found it took far too long to get good results where as the advantage of Ableton is its ease of use.

Sidechaining might not work perfectly on everything but does wonders on the kick and bass. Loads of producers use the technique. The idea is to play around with the settings, mute certain parts of the track then reintroduce them to see how things sit around each other.
