He was class when he played for us at WHQ, pretty much flawless on three decks all the time for 2 hours.

I was there too, danced like a loon for virtually the entire set.

The sounds a bit ropey coz he was red-lining it all the way - my ears were fucked for 2 days after.

Thing with ben simms is the sheer energy in his set from his mixing style, he's almost always got 2 tunes on the go at once, so it ain't ever going to be completely flawless, but in terms of wipping the superconductor crowd into a frenzy he's second to none.

guess you had to be there though:cool2:

He just brings things in when he thinks they work - chucking in house and disco pitched up along with his trademark tribal rocking techno, and if it's not perfectly beatmatched when he brings it in, he just does it on the fly - coz he can. Which is why on the odd occasion he does miss the beats, he always gets it straight back in - and it always sounds right, has got a good flow to it, and works perfectly on the dancefloor - even if it isn't a five minute eq-perfect blend between two almost identical tunes. He's doing live on the decks what a lot of DJs need a program like ableton to do for them, properly works the three decks at once, not just cueing up a third record so it's ready when the first one finishes - and he's using 2 CDJs along with it

In a totally different league to most DJs in my view
