APR05 : Polaroid Soundsystem Our fifth show sees a musical journey down the A19 for Joe Morris & Nick Smith as we welcome the Polaroid stalwarts to the ArePeopleReal threshold. Polaroid started three years ago and runs out of the Rave Cave that is, Wire Club. Running on the first Friday of every month in an old re-developed Victorian basement, Polaroid is becoming a firm fixture in the diary of many of Leeds clubbers... The main emphasis on the night is to have a "reet good party" and with an excellent group of residents and top quality guests each month, this objective is more than acheived. Music wise Polaroid is built around the sounds of quality electronic music, ranging from electro and punky disco to underground house and techno. Guests wise Polaroid was the first club night in Leeds to give debuts to Annie Mac, Radio Slave, Boys Noize, Simian Mobile Disco, Tim Sweeney and Geddes as well as playing host to the likes of Optimo, Erol Alkan, HiEM, Spektrum, Riton, Freeform Five, Riotous Rockers, Ladytron, DFA, The Electric Press, Dave Beer, Dirty Disco DJ’s, JoJo De Freq, Headman, Justus Köhncke and loads more. What more can we say other than check out this splendid shindig if you like to "shake 'yo booty".. We give you Polaroid.
