    I did appreachiate the advice, but you only ever mention the positive side of them, you never mention the negative things which could come out of starting your career in this way.

    There are negative sides to everything.

    I was going to do an apprentichipe in accountancy, but decided against it, i decided to do my A levels first just as back up really incase later on i wanted to have a change in career or something.

    Where I am now is SHIT and depressing and I can't even afford it. Was just saying to (poor) kid earlier:

    Bus fare to get there's doubled;
    Treat you like shit - Not allowed to wear jeans (i've got loads);
    Not allowed to wear any shoe/trainer with white on it;
    (the above are because our headmaster got beaten up by some legendary lads wearin white trainers and jeans when he was younger) and as a result the teachers never look eye to eye at you they are always looking below the belt to check you are on form;
    The comps are all fucked up in one way or another.. they never just work - I'm doing a double ICT course aren't I :king:;
    every student in the years below me are chavs;
    most the teachers are shit, altho we've got one mint one (who teaches well and doesnt bore you)

    etc etc.. all these little things that just fucking drag on you. Also - I'm getting there and back on my todd 'cos no one around mine goes anymore (they've seen sense).

    Depressing as fuck :(

    Well if you do you into an apprentichipe make sure first it will be something that you like and look into it with a fine tooth comb, cos i can remember asking you not long ago what you would liek to do careerwise and you didnt have a clue.

    If I went to college I'd have to get another part time job at weekend and I can't be arsed not to have a social life due to college during the week and working weekends. I should know, my lass is doing just that and I hardly get to see her.

    thing about apprenticeships is when u come out of your time u will have a fuckin massive pay packet each week as you will be a trades/crafts man, but as you are in your four year training its a fuckin nightmare..u gotta do shit loads of tests(practical and theory) and u gotta work your arse off for four years but it will be worht it! im currently in my last year of an apprenticeship as a fabricator welder and im pleased its nearly over!! bring on the wads of cash!;)
