anyone know these Canny lads go large for tellyJun 9 2007 By Evening Chronicle Four lads from Tyneside are to star in their own TV series, showing them drinking and dancing at this summer's major music festivals. The school friends will appear in Carling's Festival Postcards, which will be broadcast on Channel 4, highlighting their adventures at events up and down the land. The series starts with the Isle of Wight Festival this weekend when the friends, all aged 25, will be listening to Britain's biggest bands, including Coldplay and The Foo Fighters, and mingling with celebrities. Alex Houlsby, of Cullercoats; John Houghton, of Blyth; Stuart Hamilton and Kris Chater, both of Tynemouth, are looking forward to becoming TV stars. Shop assistant Alex said: "We're really excited. We get to go to nine festivals for free. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT "We're going to be followed everywhere by the TV crew. Who knows what will happen? I don't think I'll be able to face Newcastle when I get back. My mam and dad might disown me!" The lads were picked for the festival challenge after they were spotted on a night out in Newcastle's Digital nightclub. Alex, barman Kris and John and Stuart, who work at Northern Rock, dazzled TV producers and appeared in a pilot programme following them going to gigs over 24 hours. They have been friends for 10 years after meeting at Marden Hall School in North Shields. Alex says: "We were in a club on a night out. They picked us completely at random and we did a screen test. "We've been mates for years. We then got asked back and they must have liked us as we stayed up for 24 hours going around different gigs for Carling Live 24. "Then they asked us back. I don't know if we're going to be famous. We're just going to go for it and have a laugh." The friends will be travelling through The Big Chill, V, Global Gathering, Oxygen, O2 Wireless, Latitude, Carling Weekend in Leeds and finishing at Bestival, being held from September 7 to 9. As well as 15-minute programmes on Channel 4, 'out-takes', blogs and pictures will also be online on Channel4/4music.com, You Tube and other networking sites. John said: "Me and the lads will be able to capture the moments in a festival where you always wished you had a video camera. "We'll be followed from the moment we say goodbye to our mums until the last peg has been pulled out of the ground. It's a great opportunity and an experience we'll never forget." The first show highlighting their exploits on the Isle of Wight will be broadcast on June 13, followed by the Wireless festival on June 20. Further programmes will air throughout July, August and September. To catch up on all the lads' gossip and the celebs with whom they have been hanging out, check Angel Eyes in the Chronicle every Friday.

I used to go to school with a lad called Stu Hamilton. Dunno if it's the same one, but the one I know is a complete bellend.
Actually, just read the thing properly, and I didn't go to Marden Hall School, so doubt it's the same guy.
