anyone ever worked for a company..

who on the whole run on the kaos theory, opposed to organizational planning??
there was a program on sky last night about an american firm who ran by it, and claim brilliant results are achieved tho reactivity, the main idea being that u MUST do something NOW, opposed to too much forward planning on small issues & challenges.. allegedly the mind ticks quicker & better results come from it..
i doubt many companies would admit to it..

depends what industry the company operates in... For example healthcare and the oil industry could never operate in this fashion.

yeah ur right, intellectually based companies mainly, advertising, marketing and such...
not feasible in manufacturing, certainly not on a large scale, and if so - most definitely not planned.

i play pool like that and always win lol - perhaps it's the low cut tops i have on when i play and they act like a distraction (a 36dd distraction)

But back to the thread, i think it's be quite scary to work like that, and also frustrating, you're willing to get straight to it and the other companies you need "on board" & "singing from the same hymn sheet" aren't thinking outside the box like you are

A lot of the US Electronics companies work on the short term gain premis hoping to keep share holders etc happy with quarterly results rather than planning like you say for the long term.
