Amsterdam? me and the three scrooge's are off to the dam next month.. but i was talking to someone on the weekend and she was saying that to buy any :chill: you have to be dutch?? as there has been a new law introduced in january2007, and brithish people cant buy? is this true or not??
Re: Amsterdam? Found this on the net: ...and the tourist ban? Apparently, a right-wing Dutch minister made a speech in Berlin proposing that local authorities should change their regulations so that only Netherlands citizens could enter a coffeeshop. Fortunately, the local authorities (particularly those along the German border who the remarks were aimed at) are not enthusiastic about the idea so it's not likely to be implemented. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ But if they would change the law just ask a dutch person to buy it for you. For me it makes no difference though as I am dutch. lol
they are looking at the possibilities on doing this, but as of yet nothing has come of it. amsterdam is struggling with tourists nowadays with more ppl going to bucharest, prague and budapest so they decided that cos 60% of tourists go there for the cafe's and coffee shop life that it would be suicide to do it. its always better to go a little further south for anything tho as the gear is better.amsterdam has the "tourist trap" scenario where most products are not as strong or good quality as the southern gear. ENJOY IT THO !!
Not true. 3 of the coffee shops from the top of my head (Barneys, Grey Area, Amnesia) are all in central Amsterdam, and have all won awards for their gear year after year...
