After parties in Newcastle? Would anyone go to them if there were any? Would any secluded little venues be willing to let in a bunch of horrific peope at 4am?
has this not been tried before? i don't think it's the venue that has the problem, mainly the boys in blue
I asked this ealier in the year - here I'm not sure that finding venues venue's would be the main problem either. I think that it's the scene in Newcastle that would make it difficult for a night like that to succeed. How many time's do we see a club with 3:30-4am closing times begin to empty earlier than chucky out time - Unless a bigger name dj is playing. Recently (imo) the Newcastle club scene has began to get back to it's best though. There's been some great line-up's and packed clubs. But is this enough to start up, and successfully run, an after party/Sunday morning club?? I'd love to see it work. I've had some of my best nights out in places like London and Leeds - both of which have an thriving after party scene. Although I tend to think that is down to the clientele in these areas willing to give these clubs/venues much more support. Up here I know a lot of people who would rather leave a club half an hour early, beat the taxi que and get back for some messy afters at someone's house. Didn't that bar just up from Foundation try this once before too
hardly ever go out down newcastle but when i do im usually fucking nackered come half 2 - i think gods is the latest ive stayed in a club id sooner be chillin at a mates or in me own bed come 4
Ah, how could I forget..... (Lady in tan place) *So Mr Grant, we've just refilled this with new solution, do you want the lowest degree of tan we offer? (Me) *Nah, number 3 will do Me lass nearly shit herself when she woke up the next morning, sleeping next to the guy from the Tango adverts
digital has an afterparty news years eve doesn't it? if its a success maybe they might think about sticking with it? all about licences though i think
digital's way too big for a regular after hours party. To be fair to the council and the police on this, it's not all down to them, there's fuck all venues that are either suitable or willing to stick their necks out to give it a try in this city. Though this is partly to do with the perception that any venue that went for it would be under serious scrutiny from the police, and could potentially risk their entire license if it became a meca for drug fuelled loonies. It's also down to laziness from the club managers / owners / staff in simply not wanting to have to work past 4/5am* You'd also have to find the right club to do it, with no houses around it, taxi rank nearby and set up well enough for an after hours venue. not that I've looked into it or anything *not sure laziness is the right word but people just don't want to work those hours.
The place under the old FM's in toon would be class for it, central location n that, saw a few of these nights in Birmingham but no idea how popular they are, it would depend on the night you were having whether people would go or not and what time it started a think anyway
logic bar, we went after a trance classics sesh @ foundation a few month back and the crack was immense.
