    After-parties for tonight (Picotto night)?

Does anyone know if any after-parties are on tonight?

And if so, is there any chance I can meet some of you and try and blagg an after-party?

By the way, what's the dress-code for Promise? I've never been on a Friday. Are black jeans, black shoes, and a long-sleeve t-shirt ok? I would guess so, but just making sure!

So the dress-code is as liberal as Gods or Crasher?

Cos I've been to Foundation on other nights and they can kick up a stink.

I'm planning on going round all the bars from about 6 getting nicely mashed for this event, but I'll need something suitable for getting in the bars and for Promise. I think the above should suffice.

    Does Promise sell glowsticks?

They are usually fine as long as you dont turn up looking like a total charv in a pair of Rockports and a Ben Sherman.

My shoes are Pods, similar to Rockports, but with jeans and a t-shirt, they shouldn't care should they? If I wear my trainers then I'll have a hassle getting into bars and I'll have to start my night dead late :(

I hope they aren't narrow minded wankers who think anyone who drinks beer is a psychopath. I've met some right pricks in London like that, the sort of people who think clubbing until 6am is a major thing, and they start their night out at 10!

I don't go for cyber stuff myself, but I admit it brigthens up the crowd a lot.

Shame about the lightsticks. Do they let you take your own in, cos if they do I'll bare that in mind for next time.

    Anyway, I'm rambling. ANY AFTER-PARTIES???

Same here Marskitchen, I NEVER want to go home after a night out.

I'm starting my night at 6:45, but I REALLY need an after-party.

Espescially if Hardwick is going to chill us all out

I need to get ready and go out soon. Someone must know of an after-party!!!

If not, where can I meet you guys. By the sounds of things, half the building will be people from this messageboard. If anyone recognises me, I'll be wearing a black longsleeve t-shirt with turkoise sleeves, I've got brown hair (ut it's dark with gel), a spiky fringe, and I'm a little podgy (I love my beer). My mate will have a distinctive pair of black jeans where he's bleached Godskitchen and Promise's logo (he hasn't done Promises yet). He hasn't put Crasher's on yet, he can't find a good enough thing to trace from.

We'll both be on the dancefloor the whole night. If anyone knows of an after-party and recognises me come over and introduce yourself (I'm called Alex [I'm a lad by the way :p]).

Well I think that's everything. I REALLY wanna find an after-party for this!

here's a handy hint mate, if your going to come on and try and blag afterparties, DON'T ask where you can get glow-sticks, and DON'T tell everyone you'll be wearing shoes, or 'PODS', which you are happy to admit look like rockports.

sorry to be harsh but it makes you sound like a complete charve...which hopefully your not...

i think this theory is proven correct in the fact no-one replied??!!!

Wow...pretty narrow minded. Princess Jane, your efforts not to be offensive were pretty crap, wouldn't you agree? I don't care what you said or didn't say, it's what you're trying to imply.

I wasn't looking for some illegal underground rave, and if I was, I wouldn't go around in cybers.

Prejudging people is really quite childish. I've never been to Promise because most of my mates hate trance, in fact I only know a couple of people in college that like it, and secondly, I'm only 17, so getting in isn't always easy. I have however been around and seen many of the great DJs, and love trance and techno more than anything else. I spend all of my money on clubbing and music. Thirdly, I don't have much money, since I can't find a job, and both my parents are and have been unemployed for years. Lastly, Promise finishes really early most weeks. If Promise was open all night every week, it would be an incredible club, but going home at 2am is shit.

Here's a hint for you: don't judge people solely by what they wear or what they can afford to wear, otherwise people will begin to think you're a bigot, which I hope you're not.

PS saying your 17... hmmmmm... thats a really clever move mate!!

Saying I'm 17's not that big a deal. If they have to kick me off these forums so be it.

3am is still too early, like I said. I'd really like to see Newcastle catch up with other cities like Sheffield, Liverpool and Manchester, who have clubs all night every week.

thats not the clubs fault thought is it!! Its Newcastle Council's!!

Promise are just making the best of a not 100% ideal situation, and have amazingly well!

The big DJs still want to play there, Gatecrasher have Album launch partys there, the promotors listen to what we want eg Eddie Halliwell (who is now resident alongside Matt Hardwick, Guy Ornadel etc)

Now what other clubs do that?? The dress code is the most relaxed i ve ever seen, everyone knows everyone, and the music is amazing!!

Its not like DJs are there to "fill time" they are gonna play their best knowing full well they've only got a short space of time to do it!! I ve heard a 7 hr Tiesto set, and it was good, but a bit borin at times, however u listen to some of his shorter sets, and they re a lot better...

There's no need to jump to Promise's defence, noone is attacking them.

I know full well it is the council's by-laws that prevent all-night events. I agree that Promise make the best of a bad situation. There are only a couple of clubs in Newcastle even bother to hassle the council for hours later than 2am, and Promise is one. I also heard that apparently Foundation were instrumental in bringing the (unfortunately cancelled) 2001 Love Parade to Newcastle.

My grievance is with the council on that matter. I think Promise would be much better if it were open later every week though, as I think 3am is too early.
